ABOUT
YWLI emphasizes the justice component of sexual health and rights because this is the area that we feel is denied and is an injustice when adolescent girls and young women are not able to access services and information. We believe that women have the right to make autonomous decisions about their own bodies and reproductive functions are at the core of their fundamental right to equality and privacy.
The Right Here Right Now work is an example of how we operationalise the Sexual and Reproductive Justice (SRJ) work. YWLI is part of the Right Here Right Now (RHRN) Platform and has been working collaboratively with organisations working on sexual and reproductive health and rights in Kenya.
YWLI mobilises adolescent girls and young women at the grassroots and national level to build a strong movement of active youth champions on SRHR. Through this work, YWLI has been championing the implementation of the National Adolescent Sexual and Reproductive Health (NASRH) Policy and youth-friendly services in Mombasa, Kisumu and Nairobi counties.
