As members of YWLI, we commit to the following:
- The effective participation in building progressive young feminist organizing and networking,
- Affirm freedom of choice and autonomy regarding bodily integrity issues, including reproductive rights, abortion,
- Create a brave space – for all young women – where contributions are valued, questions are encouraged and self-reflection is fostered,
- Support women’s right to control and decide over their employment, the right to decent work and to safe, decriminalized and empowering work conditions with benefits and social protection,
- The acknowledgement of the feminist agency of African women which has a rich Herstory that has been largely undocumented and ignored.

This platform is a brave space for young feminist organisers to build their collective power and to challenge patriarchal notions and oppressive systems that reproduce injustices.
Our guiding principles articulate the collective values and plays an integral role in our lives as feminist organisers and guides us on how we implement our work. As such, we reaffirm our commitment to making YWLI a brave space, guided by respect and appreciation of diversity, commitment to human rights of all young women and girls and gender non-conforming persons, without qualification; non-discrimination on any basis; solidarity with women and girls in their different realities; and promotion of values that respect, protect and nurture the environment.
